No it’s pretty common. My daughter was born with three kidneys. Her condition was discovered before she was born. When she turned eleven months, she had it removed. She was on antibiotics for about five years. She’s now about to turn 22.
Doctors told us that its pretty common, and in most cases the kidney is very small and non-functional, so it often goes undetected.
Apparently happens in something like 1 in a 1000 births, give or take.
